Recent Demonstrations
New
Hampshire - The State's Division of Environmental Services maintains
the reservoir dams, one of which is located in Goshen. Currently the dam
slope is mowed using a Ford 1710 4WD tractor and a John Deere tractor,
both equipped with MX5 rotary cutters. Using both tractors together, the crew takes more
than two days to complete the cutting. In October, Aebi New England was pleased to
demonstrate how the job is done using a Terratrac TT70S equipped with a
74" S.M.A. flail mower. The Terratrac and the competition are
pictured below. (Which would you rather be riding when the temperature
approaches 100°F?)
Kerry, Andy, and Peter took turns putting the TT70S through its
paces. Although using the Terratrac was a learning experience for each
of them, they were able to complete the cutting in 3½ hours! This
remarkable gain in productivity was possible due to the ease of learning
Terratrac operation and the superior performance of the TT70S. In
the following pictures of the crew at work note that they maneuver the
Terratrac to cut as needed and let the sure-footed TT70S handle the sloping
terrain.
Massachusetts
- The Terretrac model line works well with aerification equipment. In September, Northfield Mount
Herman School's soccer field afforded an excellent opportunity to
demonstrate how these aerifiers work as a Terratrac TT70S implement.
A Soil Reliever Model 72 was used for the demonstration, with
10" long, ¾" solid tines in a 3x3 pattern set for
an 8" depth. The Terratrac easily marched along at a walking pace
and the Soil Reliever either pushed aside or broke the occasional rock
that was encountered.
Rhode
Island - The sandy slopes mowed by the state highway department need
tractors with high volume, low pressure tires and a large gripping area
combined with low vehicle weight. These needs are all strong points for
the Terratrac TT70S shown here during a demonstration in May, 2002.
Representatives from the Rhode Island State Highway Department were
impressed when the TT70S successfully mowed the slope without damaging the
